Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

The following blog will be written with my nieces and nephews in mind. So, Jeff & Hea...sit the kids down and just read them the "Kid" part. The "Others" will be for everyone else. Enjoy!

Kids: Uncle Traveling Matt had just been invited to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The train ride was magical and full of surprises around every turn. There was so much to see I barely could keep my eyes open to take it all in.
Others: I was on my way to Cambridge where Lindsay goes to school. The train ride was sure full of surprises because the hour ride took over 2 1/2 hours since they were working on the track lines and I had to transfer to another train. I slept most of the way.

Kids: When I arrived I got lost on the magical Grand Staircase.
Others: Out of the train station I took a wrong turn and Lindsay had to come find me.

Kids: The campus was spooky, dark, and filled with secret passageways.
Others: I arrived at night and we took the back way in.

Kids: Uncle Matt was fitted with the appropriate garments for a guest of the school.
Others: I did my laundry so I wouldn't offend Lindsay's friends with my backpacker smell.

Kids: Uncle Matt was taken to a secret hut where witches and wizards would drink magic juice.
Others: Lindsay took me to a bar.

Kids: Later that night Uncle Matt took some magic beans and didn't wake up until the next morning.
Others: I popped a couple of Advil for my headache and went to bed.

Kids: The next morning I woke up to the most magical music and started my day.
Others: My alarm clock woke me up an hour early and so I got a coffee and walked around the park.

Kids: I saw a Whomping Willow Tree

Others: I saw a Weeping Willow Tree

Kids: Uncle Matt was given a tour of Hogwarts and I got to see Hufflepuff, Slytherin, Gryffindor, and Ravenclaw.

Emma

Others: Lindsay gave me a tour of Cambridge and I saw some of the colleges; Emmanuel, Trinity, King's, and St. John's.....to name a few.

Kids: Uncle Matt got to hear the scream of the mandrake.
Others: I listened to the King's College Choir.

Kids: My guide found the invisibility cloak and disappeared from the rest of the day.
Others: Lindsay had to study and go to her basketball practice.

Kids: I got to ride the Horcrux Cave Boat

Others: I took a Flat Bottemed Punt Tour around Cambridge

Kids: I found Diagon Alley by using my magic wand

Others: I found a nice brick wall so I took a picture of it.

Kids: The alley lead me to a vast market full of odd junk.

Kids: I found a wonderful street vendor selling Norbert Burgers

Others: It was Ostrich.

Kids: Norbert tasted like chicken
Other: I ate another.

Kids: I met Albus Dumbledone

Old Man

Other: I paid some guy on the street to let me take a photo of him for my blog.

Kids: Getting back to the Ministry of Magic was easy.

Other: I had to call Lindsay because I got lost again.

My experience at Hogwarts (Cambridge) was fun and magical!!!!!!!
